Q. What is a Super Deposition and what do I need to do to order one?

A Super Deposition is one of the most exciting emerging multimedia services currently being offered, combining exhibits and video depositions in a real-time, picture-in-picture video. Our feedback from clients tells us the courtroom impact of a Super Deposition is extremely effective.

The process of ordering a Super Deposition is similar to a traditional video deposition. The only difference is that you must provide LVS with digital or paper copies of the exhibits you plan to use at least 48 hours prior to your deposition.

Q. What is the difference between video streaming and video teleconferencing?

Video teleconferencing sends the video and audio over telephone lines, and requires specialized equipment on BOTH ends in order to send and receive the video - a process that can be expensive and difficult for both parties.

Video streaming is live video broadcasting over the internet. At a streaming deposition the videographers plug into the internet and log on to view the deposition at a remote location. Video streaming depositions are ideal for corporate counsel or co-counsel who want to monitor the deposition but cannot actually be there.

Q. Are steamed video depositions secure over the internet?

Yes, video depositions are securely streamed through a private password protected secure internet site. During the deposition the feed is continually monitored for usage, ensuring there are not any security breaches.

Q. Who runs the visual presentation in the courtroom?

Most of our clients choose to have a LVS trial consultant with them in the courtroom. Our trial consultants are responsible for running the presentation, playing video clips and setting up and maintaining equipment, which leaves the client free to argue their case unencumbered.

LVS does, however, offer training classes for law firms wishing to train a paralegal or litigation support member.

Q. What do I need to do to prepare my case for a digital trial presentation?

The first step is scheduling a meeting with a LVS trial consultant where we will assess your needs and develop a strategy for your case. Secondary steps include organizing your database (exhibits, transcripts and video), creating video clips and developing visual demonstratives (graphics, interactive timelines, etc.).

Q. Does it matter what format I order my video deposition in?

Yes, it is important to order your video deposition in the correct format, as there are major difference between the various file formats and media. We are happy to make a recommendation based on your needs, and encourage you to read our LVS Format Offering Guide for more information on the various formats we offer.
